Google just released another update, another round of the Penguin algorithm. The first Penguin update was launched in 2012. The last overhaul from Penguin was a little over 2 years ago, in 2014. This time, Google made this release more of a learning update, a real-time ranking algorithm. So, no more waiting two years or more for another face-lift. The disadvantage is that your development company will need to be on its game to keep up with it. There will be no more slacking on effort or excuses for why Penguin is penalizing you. This update will allow quicker ranking efforts when a website has been fixed from previous bad rankings and penalties from the search engine.
I express to all of my customers that it’s better to get familiar with Google and their updates. Updates seem to be coming more frequently these days. I suggest this empowerment to business owners especially. You do not have to be an expert or do anything with the information, but it is always good to gain knowledge. Also, communicate with your development company about your search engine optimization strategy and recent updates in Google.
